IF MY EVENT IS INSIDE, DOES THE PHOTO BUS HAVE TO STAY OUTSIDE?
Not always! The Photo Bus is 75" wide and 85" tall, so as long as we can fit in the door and get permission from the venue, we will be there!
CAN I CHANGE THE BACKGROUND COLOR?
Yes! We have a sweet range of super fun backdrops that you can choose from. We currently have 15 different backgrounds, and we're always adding more. Do you have a theme for your event? No problem! We will work with you to do our best to match our photo booth background with your theme. Just make sure you mention it before the event! Custom backgrounds start at $145.
HOW MUCH SPACE DO YOU NEED?
We ask for about a 10'x20' space when we're all up and running.
WHAT IF THERE IS NO POWER OUTLET FOR ELECTRICITY NEARBY?
We can provide a generator for an extra fee in special circumstances.
DO YOU PRINT ON-SITE?
All of our packages include printing unlimited photos on-site, and at no additional cost! What's even better is each person who takes their picture in our photo booth gets a copy of their photo.
CAN YOU PERSONALIZE THE PRINTS?
We always have The Photo Bus logo on the bottom of prints, but we will also personalize it for your event, whether it's a wedding, birthday party, fundraiser, or just because! We are all about creating memories, so we are so happy to work with you to help people remember each event. Are you a designer or you're working with one and want to design your own prints? We'll be happy to send you the Photoshop template for you to design them.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RENT YOUR MOBILE PHOTO BOOTH?
Contact us to see about pricing. All of our packages include your unlimited prints, an attendant to setup, travel fees on Oahu, run and tear down, handmade props to use, custom print design, and your choice of background. We also offer weekday discounts (Monday - Thursday), Military discounts (valid active military ID required) and hourly rates in the Oahu area for fundraisers, birthday parties, corporate parties, etc.. WILL I RECEIVE ALL THE PHOTOS FROM THE EVENT?
Yes, you will receive all the images via an online gallery which you can then download all the images directly to your computer.
CAN I RENT THE BUS FOR A PHOTO OR VIDEO SHOOT?
Absolutely! If you’d like to rent our Photo Bus for a photo or video shoot (not as a photo booth) please contact us.
MAY WE COME SEE THE PHOTO BUS PRIOR TO AN EVENT?

The Photo Bus travels to events on the island of Oahu at no additional cost. If you're curious about having this unique photo booth at your event outside of Oahu, contact us and we'll see what we can do! We also have The Photo Bus KC (our parent company in Kansas CIty), As well as affiliates in Denver, Austin, St. Louis, El Paso, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Portland.
CAN YOU DRIVE THE PHOTO BUS?
Yes! We always drive The Photo Bus to events, but we usually push it into the venue.
WHAT YEAR IS THE PHOTO BUS?
Our VW Photo Booth, The Photo Bus, was born in 1965. We were established as a company in 2012 in Kansas City and expanded to Oahu in 2016.
WHERE DID YOU GET THE BUS?
Our bus Theo has been on the island for more than 30 years. His windows were full of stickers from his former owners and we kept most of them. It feels like the stickers are telling us a story about where his owners had been or what they were doing. And everybody loves Theo. Honestly, 4/5 times we stop somewhere, we have people come up to talk about their old VW, checking if Theo might be their old Bus, which they always took to the beach, or that old-time couple that always drove theirs across the country and back, etc. It's very rewarding for us that we can not only bring joy to our own life with our Bus, but it seems everyone else's as well.
WHERE DID YOU GET THE IDEA TO PUT A PHOTO BOOTH IN A VW BUS?
The idea for The Photo Bus came from our parent company, The Photo Bus KC which is owned by Cate & John DePrisco. We decided that we wanted to bring the idea here to Oahu and we knew the best way to get this going was to do it the right way by working directly with the company that has a wonderful reputation. We reached out to them in July 2016 and here we are today: up and running in Oahu and ready to meet you!
